Love Song From Jesus

At 5:00 am, Matt and I were driving to the hospital for the DNE. We heard one song only and entirely. This was the first time I had ever heard this song, and I know it was played this morning specifically for Matt and me. Jesus sang us a song of love and comfort straight to our hearts.

You are going to want to hear this! Make sure you pause the playlist:

"Blessings" by Laura Story
We pray for blessings
We pray for peace
Comfort for family, protection while we sleep
We pray for healing, for prosperity
We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering
All the while, You hear each spoken need
Yet love us way too much to give us lesser things

Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You’re near
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise

We pray for wisdom
Your voice to hear
And we cry in anger when we cannot feel You near
We doubt Your goodness, we doubt Your love
As if every promise from Your Word is not enough
All the while, You hear each desperate plea
And long that we'd have faith to believe

Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You’re near
And what if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise

When friends betray us
When darkness seems to win
We know the pain reminds this heart
That this is not, this is not our home
It's not our home

Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
And what if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You’re near
What if my greatest disappointments
Or the achings of this life
Is the revealing of a greater thirst this world can’t satisfy
And what if trials of this life
The rain, the storms, the hardest nights
Are Your mercies in disguise

Update

The surgery went well this morning. I am thankful. And, for me, I felt a bit of closure after the surgery. I am hopeful now that I can feel my body healing that I will also be able to heal emotionally.

I think that Matt feels differently. He has been so focused on me the last couple of days, and I have let him. Now, I am trying to figure out what may help him in the coming days. Continued prayer, of course. But, it is just a little harder for men to really put their finger on how or what grieving looks like. He has been so wonderful to me, and I love him so much more than I ever thought I could. Maybe if any of your daddies out there have been through this, you may have some thoughts?

These past couple of days have made me so thankful for many things. First and foremost, for our precious Savior. He has been so close to us. I do not know how we would survive this had we not been believers.

We are also so grateful for our friends and family. You all have been so supportive, and we have felt so loved. Every phone call, message, meal provided, and prayer said has brought me to tears. I am so deeply touched and humbled by the love of the body of Christ.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

PS. I put a little picture of our sweet little Angel to the right....enjoy.

Loss

We lost our sweet baby. We went yesterday to find out the sex a couple of weeks early. No heartbeat. The doc said that the baby was measuring 13 weeks, and it looks like the baby had a chromosomal issue.

We ask you to pray for us during this hard time. We are clinging to Jesus and trusting in His goodness. We can already feel the prayers of family and friends, and we appreciate it so much.

The Gift of a Great Dad

I grew up with many Godly men who invested in me. I am so thankful for that. Both of my Papas were amazing and showed me in many ways how to love. My Dad was and is the best that a girl could ever want. I was never lacking in compliments, "I Love You"s, quality time, hugs, and kisses. I am so very thankful for that.

I am even more thankful that my girls have the same kind of men in their lives. Their Papa, Pal, and Daddy are so sweet, gentle, and encouraging to them. I love my dad, dad-in-law, and my husband. I love them a thousand times more when I see them loving the girls! Maggie and Kerri Grace (and sweet pea) will never be lacking in compliments, "I Love You"s, quality time, hugs, and kisses from the wonderful men in their lives:

Happy Belated Father's Day to Papa, Pal, and Daddy! We are so thankful for you, and we love you very much!

Party at "Mama O's"

My sweet grandmother lives about 10 minutes from our house in an Assisted Living Home. We love her being so close by and all of the fun festivities they have at her Assisted Living Home. One of our absolute favorite nights is the Luau! We had a great time with Grandma Oliver (Mama O) at the Luau!

(Added Bonus of the Night: The girls luau-appropriate outfits from last year still fit them! Don't you just love it when that happens?!)

Here are some pics from our fun time Thursday night at the Luau:

Oh the Magic!!

This past weekend, we went to the Magic Kingdom (Disney World), and to Sea World. We went with our great friends, the Weavers. It was a whirlwind trip, it was super hot, and it was spectacular!

* A very special thanks to Mimi for making the cute Disney outfits, to Mimi and Papa for buying the Disney tickets, to the Weavers for letting us stay with them for two nights, and to Allison for having the cute Sea World shirts made!*

Here are some of the highlights from our trip:

Unexpected Lessons

Yesterday, we had our friends, the Osborns, over for some fun at the pool and pizza. We had such a great time, and the girls were so glad to have Belle, Lucy, and Everett over.

At one point, all of the kiddos were swimming in the kiddie pool, and I glanced over to see Kerri Grace struggling to get her footing and lift her head out of the water. She apparently had toppled over and couldn't figure out how to come up for air. It was such a sad sight to me. It was not long at all (probably just seconds) that she was in that predicament....she didn't cough or cry. But, her eyes were as big as saucers, and she didn't want to get back in the water. She was absolutely fine, and really, I wasn't too shook up about it.

For some reason, however, I couldn't get that vision of her scared and struggling out of my head. So, last night, I was praying, and thanking the Lord for keeping her safe. I was also, asking God why I kept having that vision. (One of my struggles since having kids is the fact that I can't keep them safe. And, in this case, I couldn't even prevent her from being afraid.) Then, it was almost as if I heard the Lord's audible voice....."I was with her. I am with you. When you are scared, I am with you." Of course! So, my prayers have changed from asking God to always keep my girls safe....because all I can do is trust God and try to use wisdom....to asking God to let His presence be known to them when they are scared, hurting, grieving, etc. My prayer is that for myself and for you, too, friend.

On a much lighter note, here are some cute pictures of bath time, and our pizza party with the Osborns:
