Girl Time!

Today has been such a fun day. Maggie had a nice long nap this morning, and woke up ready to go visit with her friend, Campbell. We met Lauren and Campbell at Rolly Polly. It was good food and a great time with friends. The more Maggie and Campbell are together, the more I think that they are definitely destined to have the same kind of close friendship that Lauren and I have. I hope so.

Then, Maggie and I dropped by to see some friends at Crestview. Although Maggie was getting tired, she was tough. It is so fun now that Maggie is old enough to take her out places. She doesn't get bored nearly as quickly, and it gives me plenty of time to show her off. =) Mags and I are becoming such a great team!

BMW Pro-Am!

We went my family to the BMW Pro-Am at Thornblade today. Although I am not a huge golf fan, it was fun! Maggie got a golf ball from one of the players. She was not really all that impressed, but I thought it was sweet of him. She mainly just wanted to suck on the ball. After about an hour out on the course, Maggie came back with her Mimi and took a nap. The rest of us came back a little while later and found Maggie enjoying her Coke (Aunt Kim, she is taking after you!) It was a great afternoon.

What's Happenin' With Maggie.....

One of Maggie's favorite drinks....water! That's right, good ol' H2O! It is kind of funny how excited she gets when she has a sippy cup full of water waiting on her. Here are some pics for you to see what I am talking about. Doesn't she look happy/sneaky?

Maggie is pushing up on her knees. She still depends mainly on rolling and scooting backwards to get places. But, I think she looks so cute when she gets up on her hands and knees and sways. Then, she plunges forward because she hasn't learned how to move her hands one at a time. Good try, Mags!

Sweet Friends and Sweet Baby Girls!

A few of my friends from Samford came to have lunch with me (and Mags). It was so fun to see them again. And, it was fun to meet their baby girls. We all have babies that are under the age of one, and they are all girls. That made our time together all the more special. We, of course, had to get a little bit of advice from Lyndie who has two girls. She is a pro! We had a great time visiting and talking about being moms. And, I think that the babies had a good time visiting, too.

Praise Report!

Praise Report: Daniel's surgery went very well! He is in the ICU recovering.

Growing up, I used to hear the term "praise report" a lot in my church. Although I think that the phrase sounds kind of silly, I love the idea of giving praises out loud of the good things the Lord has done my life. In fact, when Maggie was born, I told many praise reports to Matt. He calls on his way home from work, and I would share with him the little everyday things the Lord was doing in her life. (Isn't it amazing that the Lord works in such small lives) Anyway, it was like taking a breath of fresh air in after (sometimes) a hard day of hearing Maggie fuss or changing her outfit and mine five times. So, I think I will get back in the habit of sharing the big and small things that the Lord does for me on a daily basis. It does my heart good. So, my praise report today is a BIG one. I am so thankful for the life of my cousin, Daniel! Praise God for the great things He has done today!

Daniel's Surgery

My cousin, Daniel, is in surgery right now. He is having bypass surgery, and I am asking you to pray. If you read this post anytime today, please mention my cousin by name and ask the Lord to deliver him through this surgery. I appreciate all of your prayers.

Kimberly's Shower

My sister-in-law, Kimberly, is getting married on July 12th. We celebrated this past weekend by giving her a recipe/kitchen shower. We all had a good time visiting and showering Kim with presents. Yea for love, marriage, and good times with friends!

Prayer Request for Daniel

If you don't mind, when you are having your prayer time, please mention my cousin to the Lord. His name is Daniel, and he is having bypass surgery next week. Pray that God will guide the surgeons hands, and that Daniel will be healed and as good as new. Also, pray for strength for his wife and little boy. Thanks so much!

Best Friends!

Maggie and Campbell will be best friends! Lauren, Campbell's mom, and I have been best friends since middle school. We figured that it is only appropriate to prearrange a best friendship between our girls. We will see how it goes. Judging from their interest in eachother the other day, our plan is going to work out just beautifully. They were so cute smiling and trying to grab eachother! Here are a couple of pics:

Sunday is Not a Day of Rest for Maggie!

Today, Maggie had a great time sliding and rolling. She hasn't figured out how to propel herself forward, but she does a great job of pushing herself backwards on the hardwood floors. Here are some of the areas she covered today.

What to Do, What to Do......

This past week or so, Maggie has been waking up at six o'clock instead of her usual seven. Don't get me wrong, I am so thankful that Maggie is a good sleeper. I realize that sleeping 7:30 to 6:00 is very good. But, I can't figure her out. I don't know if she is waking herself up wanting some company (which I do not give her until about 6:40), or if her teeth are bothering her, or what. When I was rubbing orajel on her gums, I felt two more teeth poking through her top gums. Could this have been the culprit? I am fine getting up at six. This is not a problem in the grand scheme of things. But, if you have any tips about how to gear her back towards a seven o'clock wake up time, please share! It would be fun for me to go back to our original time.

Here is a funny picture of Maggie fussing. Take note of her two bottom teeth. I think they are so cute. Maggie would probably disagree since she doesn't particularly enjoy the teething process. =)
