Playdate with EB

Maggie gently climbing on EB's bumbo.

Maggie giving EB some love...how cute!
Maggie made a new friend today! This pretty little doll's name is EB. She is the daughter of Jeni and the grandaughter of Jane ( who made our playdate possible). She is just the most sweet natured baby, and Maggie just LOVED her. I think that she thought she was another toy to play with so we had to make sure she was gentle with little EB. I was so proud of her...she was very tender and sweet with her new friend. So glad we had this playdate!

"Discussions"

Maggie knows how to express herself now! It makes hanging out with her even more fun, but it also has been slightly frustrating a few times. Maggie shakes her head to say, "No," and occassionally shakes her head to say, "Yes." It's so unbelievably cute when she does this, except for when we have (what I call) our "discussions." I will tell her something that I want her to do or not do, then she will shake her head "No," and get very stubborn about whatever the thing may be. We usually repeat me asking and her replying,"No," several times. For example, this morning, she did not want me to put her in her crib for her nap. She stiffened her legs and was just shaking her head ,"No," as forcefully as she could. (Keep in mind that this is mostly because she wants to spend more time with me which is endearing.) Isn't it a little bit early to be dealing with this? Some would say that I have a bit of a stubborn streak....is that what I could be seeing in my sweet little one? This only lasted for a minute, and then she put up a pretty good fight when I left, but only for a few more minutes. Then, it was off to sweet dreams. When she woke up, she had completely forgotten about our "discussion," and she was ready to giggle and play!

My view on the monitor after our little "discussion."

Now You May Tell Me How Great I Am!

Maggie loves to receive praise! But in all honesty, who doesn't? She has learned to share all of her toys, food, etc. now that she knows the appropriate verbal reward is soon to follow. I am really excited about that. Another thing that is particularly cute is the face and stance she has after she pulls up on something. She smiles and cocks her head as if to say, "Ok. I'm ready. Let the praises begin!"

Don't you want to just give her a call right now and say, "Good Job, Magpie?"

Where's Maggie?

Maggie loves playing hide-and-seek (she only seeks at this point) and peek-a-boo. This video was from a couple of weeks ago. Enjoy!

Happy Birthday, Kerri and KImberly!

Some of Kerri's girlfriends outside of Gerards

Matt's sisters, Kerri and Kimberly, were born on the same day (July 18th) three years apart. Kim is still on her honeymoon so I'm sure she had a pretty spectacular birthday. We celebrated Kerri's special day by going to Flat Rock and shopping around some, then going out with the girls for dinner. It was a very fun day celebrating how much Kerri means to us! Happy Birthday Kerri and Kimberly!

Beach Bum Baby!

We spent last week at the beach with my family. We had such a great time! It was not really what I would call relaxing since Maggie doesn't know that you get to sleep in at the beach, but it was so much fun. Everytime we were on the beach, Maggie would crawl straight for the water. She didn't mind the sand at all. In fact, she liked putting her hands in it and seeing how it tasted. I don't think she liked it as much as her cheerios. While we were there, we celebrated Bradley's birthday, Matt and I went out to eat for our anniversary, we watched the amazing fireworks all along the beach for the Fourth, and played a lot of games that Taylor brought. What a spectacular week! Maggie and I don't know what to do with ourselves now that it is just us trying to entertain one another. I guess we will just hold on until this next weekend when we get to have more good times with Matt's family. Fun is so much fun!

Four Fabulous Years!

July 3, 2004

July 3, 2008

Matt and I got married on July 3, 2004! It was the most surreal day, and I was sure that God had blessed me with the most kind, generous, and loving man. Four years later, I am positive that the Lord did just that! Thank you, Matt, for choosing me, loving me, putting up with me, etc. I have absolutely loved being your wife these past four years!
