Iced In But Headed Out!

When we woke up to ice covering the ground, I was certain the day would be spent indoors.  After all, we don't have any snow/ice toys, and we have an infant who doesn't need to be out in below freezing weather for too long.  But, we decided to bundle up and head out for a while anyway.
Luckily, Papa and Mimi were brave and made the five minute drive over to our house.  They made it safely and brought a sled and disc.  Yay!!  So, we spent a good half hour out in the cold having so much fun....our ice day was saved!

The Gaymon Royal Ball

Tonight, we had planned to take Maggie to the library for the "Royal Ball".  Maggie and I had talked about it a good bit, and Maggie was really excited.  So, when the weather was threatening snow/ice, and Maggie did not take a nap at school today, it didn't seem like the greatest plan to drag her out in her little tiny Cinderella dress to most likely have a miserable time at the ball.  However, we couldn't disappoint our precious princess.  So, we had to bring the ball home to us!  We had such a great time dancing and pretending!

Cinderella had to have a snack...for dancing energy.

The feather tiara is not the best look for the Stepmommy....yes, Maggie told me I was the Stepmommy (so so sad).

The first dance with Prince Charming.

Almost lost the tiara...that will never do!

They have the same moves and facial expressions!

Cast Your Burdens...

Onto Jesus For He Cares For You!

I usually don't share with the blog world about my walk with the Lord, and I especially don't share my struggles....who wants to put that all over the internet?  But, today I figured...why not, after all, someone may be encouraged by me simply typing out what is taking place in my heart.  So, yesterday, our sermon was on Fear and casting our burdens onto God...or that was my take on it.  This series is mostly aimed towards finances which is something I have never learned how to completely give over to God.  Now don't get me wrong...I am by no means a great budgeter either.  I just tithe, pay our bills, spend when I want to, and every now and then use a little discipline when our bank account is getting low.  I know, genious!  So, we (Matt and I) have really been getting excited about learning to be courageously generous with our money.  And, then, last week,  we had to pay our property tax!!!!  So, I am thinking...boy is that great timing on the enemy's part, or what?  So, we decided to go ahead and give our tithes (pat on the back to us =)) and we would have just enough money to buy a few groceries to get through this week.  I hope ya'll are following...

Last Friday, my sweet mom offered she and my dad to watch the girls on Saturday for Matt and I to go to a movie and on a date.  *Insert me trying to rationalize using the credit card to enjoy a much needed night with just my husband.*  That night, I mention it to Matt hoping he will justify this night in the same way I did.  Oh, but wait...Matt has two free movie passes and a gift card to a restaurant.  So, I think, boy, this is working out perfectly.  I didn't think about it until yesterday...wasn't that such a blessing from the Lord?!!!  Not that I was casting my burden onto him...he just sent a sweet blessing anyway.  But, can you imagine if I actually do that?  So.....that's right, there's more!

Just a few hours ago, my sweet mom called again and asked if we wanted to come over for dinner tonight!!  Thank you, Lord, and thank you to my mom for allowing herself to be a vessel.  I mean, really, God Cares For Me...even in the little things.  I pray that we do cast our burdens onto Jesus, and we take notice of these precious moments a lot more!  Just thought I would share.

Alike But Different

You can ...or I can...most definitely tell they are sisters! As a baby, my Maggie was gorgeous...my Kerri Grace is gorgeous, too.  My Maggie was a sweet baby...my Kerri Grace is sweet, too.

There are differences.  Maggie was a bigger baby, but Kerri Grace looks chunkier to me.  Maggie had huge dark brown eyes.  Kerri Grace has slightly smaller, almost hazel eyes.  Maggie had more hair and it was darker.  Maggie was a lot more serious, and Kerri Grace is a lot more laid back and giggly.

We love them both so much and are so thankful for our alike but different girls!

Not So Wordless Wednesday!

I was going to simply put up another adorable picture of each of my little gals in honor of Wordless Wednesday, but then I realized that my Kerri Grace is 6 Months Old today!  I can't believe it!  She has been alive for half of a year!  My, how time flies...especially for your second little one.  So, here are six things I love about my six month old cutie:

1.  her affectionate cuddly side
2.  chunky cheeks that smush her tee-tiny features
3.  her love of baby food and the grunts and squeals that accompany mealtimes
4.  the tolerance she has for her sister not ever allowing her any personal space
5.  that oh-so-joyful laugh
6.  her sweet, sweet spirit

Happy 6 Months, Kerri Grace!  I am so glad God chose me to be your mommy.  We Love You!

It's That Time Again...

Time to Play "Who Does That Baby Look Like?"...

....A not-so-flattering picture of Ashley

...Our Precious Kerri Grace

...and Matthew.

So, I have my opinion on who both of our kids look more like.  I think that they are both a blend but one looks a lot more like Matt and one looks a lot more like me.  I have gotten mixed reviews so far, so I am curious...what are your thoughts on Kerri Grace?

Prince Charming

Matt has been out of town since yesterday morning.  As I was loading up Kerri Grace to go get Maggie from school, the doorbell rang.  There was the Fed Ex guy holding what looked to be a box of flowers.  Indeed it was!  Matt sent me the most beautiful tulips, and a sweet note to go along with them.  Well played!  I love you!

Dear 2010,

I am a huge fan of you, already!  Some skeptical onlookers may say, "But, 2010, you have set the bar so low for the Gaymon household...no excitement (besides the usual bumped noggin') has taken place, everyone has been in bed at their usual early hours, the Mrs. has gotten way too much laundry done, and the Mr. cooked meals for the entire week on Saturday from one package of meat."  I LOVE IT!  Thank you, 2010.  I am a very happy woman!

Kerri Grace is completely captivated by her sister's reading skills.

Little drool....got it!

So happy in my daddy's arms!
