Since Maggie started sleeping in her big girl bed (at 22 months), she has gotten up one or two times a night. She will have a week or two that she doesn't, but more times than not, she is in our room about 3 or 4 am. Matt has always done a great job of putting her back in her bed...thankfully, we haven't gotten in the pattern of letting her get in our bed.
Recently, we have started trying a few new methods of rewards and consequences for getting out of her bed. Last week, Matt told Maggie that the first night she sleeps all the way through the night without coming in our room, he would take her to get doughnuts. Last night was the night!! This morning, Matt came for a meeting on this side of town, so he took out his sweet little date to get her reward! Let's hope this is the beginning of a new pattern!
Side Note: I would appreciate any successful "night waking tips" from any of you parents out there...I feel a little guilty for even asking that because Maggie is such a good little girl. But, who knows, we might find something that keeps her in the bed more times than not!
