Catch Up Time

So much has happened the last few weeks. Now that Matt's dad is recovering and doing so well, Matt and I have felt like it was time to catch up on fun with friends and also on projects around the house (after all, our Kerri Grace will be here in a few short weeks.) So, a few weekends ago, we met up with our friends, the Weavers, at my parents lake house. My parents have literally just moved in to this glorious house so the accommodations were nice but a little sparse. We didn't mind. We had a great time! Lila (who is seen below on "Wordless Wednesday") and Maggie became instant best friends. They were absolutely adorable playing together. They swam, rode the jet skies, tubed, and played with toys in the house. I have never seen Maggie interact with a child her age as well as she did with Lila. She would wake up in the mornings and call out, "Yiya (Lila), I comin'!" Lila is a precious little girl and didn't seem to mind a younger tot trailing behind her the whole weekend.

The next weekend, Matt went to camp with the kids from church for Friday night. Maggie and I headed to the lake with Mimi and Papa. Then, on Saturday, we all celebrated Aunt Taylor's 25th birthday at the lake! Maggie called her the morning of and sang a beautiful rendition of "Happy Birthday." She is quite the little singer. Anyway, we had a great time celebrating Taylor and how much she means to us!

We have been working hard in Kerri Grace's nursery and it is coming together just beautifully. I will post some pictures when we have it all done. I must say that I am pretty proud of the tree I painted in the corner, and the monogram I painted on canvas. I mean, it by no means looks professionally done, but it is pretty. I am pleased.

Last Thursday, Mimi, Maggie, and I went to a pool party for Ava Cooler. It was held at her Me Me's house, and we all (especially Maggie) had a ball. She was a little tired (we are still trying to get her to sleep longer in her big girl bed) but she didn't let that slow her down. She played and played! Now, she thinks that every party is a pool party. Here are a few pictures from the occasion:

I don't think anyone can possibly look cuter from the rear.

It was such a beautiful day and such wonderful food and fellowship!

"Pal" is Back!!

Several people have asked how Mr. Gaymon is doing, and we appreciate your continued prayers and concern. He is doing very well!! He went home last Wednesday, and his head is feeling so much better...yay! Tomorrow, Matt's parents are moving into their new house (which is just beautiful, by the way). So, that is great!! I know that Mr. Gaymon wishes he could help out more, but I am sure he will regain his strength soon and there will be plenty to do around the house. So, God is Good and Pal is Getting Better!!

Maggie will get to see her Pal tomorrow, and she is so excited! She has been asking over and over again about Pal and his boo boo. So cute! I will take some pictures and post them so you all can see how great he looks. Thanks again for loving us through your prayers and support!

Big Girl Bed (AKA "Girl Girl Bed")

Well, this was the week! Maggie has switched from her crib to her big girl bed or as she likes to call it, "Girl girl bed!" We made the move on Saturday morning so that she could take a nap in her new bed and hopefully make the transition easier. All in all, it has gone pretty well. Matt and I are exhausted, but not really because Maggie has been really difficult. I haven't slept because I have been waking up every hour to check the monitor and make sure Maggie is still in her bed, and Matt is finally letting himself be tired from all that has happened with his dad, his parents moving, etc. I am sure we will remember what it is REALLY like to be sleep deprived come July 20th or so. =)

Maggie loves her big girl bed!!! She doesn't, however, love to sleep in it yet. I think she realizes that Mommy or Daddy could be sleeping right beside her and that would be a whole lot more fun than "flyin' solo." So, sleep doesn't come very easily, but she has slept through the nights. She gets up earlier, and naptimes are not the greatest right now. I hope that within the next week or so, she gets back to her usual 1 1/2 - 2 hour naps. Other than that, I think you could call this transition a success so far!

Here are some cute pictures of Maggie taking a dip in her frog pool on Sunday afternoon:
