Long time no post! I know that I usually am a bit of an “over poster,” so I hope that you weren’t worried about me or have given up on me. We have been too busy having fun around here to slow down and write a blog post!
Several sweet friends have asked me recently how I am doing…really doing. So, I thought I would respond on here in case some of you want to ask me the same question.
I honestly feel like we are in a pretty good place. The intense pain over the miscarriages is behind us, and I could do a happy dance about that! I still have my moments, and sometimes full days of dull sadness. I think that will take a while to pass…and it may never completely go away.
Yes, it seems like many, many of our friends and family have had babies recently or are expecting a baby. There is still a bit of a sting when I am around a baby or pregnant friend, but I love these babies and women too much to let it overshadow the joy that I feel for them. Plus, I know that it is just as hard for them to figure out how to handle me. I pray that God gives me the ability to love them in a way that makes them a little more comfortable around me and my grief.
As far as Matt and I having more kids, we still want more! However, we are praying that if we are not supposed to have more kids, that God would take that desire away completely. We also both feel like our lives and hearts are very full by the love of the Lord and His blessings…namely a four-year-old, sweet, caring beauty, and a two-year-old, spunky, fun-loving cutie pie!
This Valentine Season has been so fun, and I could not love my man and my two little gals more! Here is a synopsis of our busy, fun-filled February:
Started (and pretty much finished) potty training! Way to Go, Kerri Grace!
Ate way, way too much chocolate (if there is such a thing as too much chocolate!)
We celebrated many sweet little friends' birthdays!
Daddy accompanied Maggie to "Donuts for Daddy" at her preschool. She was so excited!
We participated in playdates galore! So fun!
Matt and I enjoyed a Grace Leaders' Retreat at the Grove Park Inn, while Maggie and Kerri Grace were spoiled by grandparents!
We went to our sweet Eliza's baptism.
We took Valentines to our friends at school.
We celebrated Valentine's Day with our little family at Brick Street...yummy!
We had family (and lots of little cousins) in town for the weekend!
We had a shower for Aunt Kerri (and Baby Boy Beekman)!
Whew!!!! So, what are we doing now, you ask?!! This....
"For I am convinced the neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers. Neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." - Romans 8:38-39
I hope that your lives, calendars, and hearts are full this February, too!! XOXO - Ash

i'm so glad to get a "real" update from you. and wow your words are exactly where i was just 3 short years ago. there are still times i mourn our miscarriage the babies we "lost" in our failed adoptions but on the other side i can see Gods perfect plan. it wasn't my plan but it was His. and i know how hard it is to be around other pregnant women...for you and for them. but you will find a way and you will find that those that truly love you will find a way...and it will be strangely comfortable and easy. praying for this for you.
