At 5:00 am, Matt and I were driving to the hospital for the DNE. We heard one song only and entirely. This was the first time I had ever heard this song, and I know it was played this morning specifically for Matt and me. Jesus sang us a song of love and comfort straight to our hearts.
You are going to want to hear this! Make sure you pause the playlist:
"Blessings" by Laura Story
We pray for blessings
We pray for peace
Comfort for family, protection while we sleep
We pray for healing, for prosperity
We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering
All the while, You hear each spoken need
Yet love us way too much to give us lesser things
Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You’re near
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise
We pray for wisdom
Your voice to hear
And we cry in anger when we cannot feel You near
We doubt Your goodness, we doubt Your love
As if every promise from Your Word is not enough
All the while, You hear each desperate plea
And long that we'd have faith to believe
Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You’re near
And what if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise
When friends betray us
When darkness seems to win
We know the pain reminds this heart
That this is not, this is not our home
It's not our home
Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
And what if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You’re near
What if my greatest disappointments
Or the achings of this life
Is the revealing of a greater thirst this world can’t satisfy
And what if trials of this life
The rain, the storms, the hardest nights
Are Your mercies in disguise

The Lord has kept you on my heart the past 2 days. I am so sorry for your loss. Love to see God work in ways like the song He ordained on the trip to the hospital.
Ashley, My heart breaks for you and Matt and your girls. I can't imagine the joy you must have felt heading to the doctor to discover if your family would have a precious boy or girl added to it - only to discover this news instead. Please know prayers are being sent up for you from Birmingham. I, too, love this song and am so glad God used it to touch you this morning. I pray He continues to send your joys through your tears in the coming days. Love, KRISTEN :)
Hi, Ashley. I'm sure you don't know me. Our moms were best friends growing up. I just went through the same thing you are going through. We went in last Thursday for our routine U/S to find out sex of baby and were devastated to learn that our baby had passed away. I carried the baby for 20 weeks and on Monday of this week, I had to deliver our sweet little angel. I'm sure this is one of, if not the hardest, things you will ever go through. It is for us. But through all of our heartache, God has been so merciful. I pray for you and your family in the days ahead that God will give you peace and rest. I pray that He will wrap His loving arms around you and comfort you all during this time of loss.
Love,
Kelly Standridge Herring
Wow Ashley, that's amazing that God gave you that song! Our devotion at a work staff meeting recently was about how God still speaks...so true...thank you for sharing that.
Love you
Kim
