Blessings!!

The past week has been about God's rich blessings! As you know, Matt's dad, Hal, started off the week with a seizure Monday morning which sent him into respiratory failure. Throughout this week, we have thanked the Lord over and over for sparing his life Monday morning, and we are continuing to praise Him as Matt's dad continues to heal. His surgery will be Wednesday at some point. I am not sure of the time, but I will post that as soon as I know. But, this post is going to be about other people who have blessed our lives....our mothers!

We had the most wonderful Mother's Day weekend! This was the first Mother's Day that Matt's parents have been here for us to celebrate with both of our mothers. And, what a weekend of celebrating it was!

Matt and I cooked dinner Saturday night for my mom. We had such a good time visiting with Mimi and Papa. It is overwhelming when I stop to think about what an amazing mom I have. She is one of the most selfless servants I know. She is such an inspiration to me! Then, to top it off, I have a precious daughter who makes my life so much sweeter! AND (yes there is more), my daughter gets to know my mother! This is not something I take for granted, and I pray for those women out there who did not have their mothers here to celebrate with.

Here are a few pictures from our dinner...pardon the "glow" I am sporting. Our air went out Saturday afternoon, and it was a little bit warm for this pregnant lady. =)

What a beautiful girl!!

Maggie LOVES group hugs! She definitely gets that from her mommy!

After church on Sunday, we went over to Matt's parent's to eat more delicious food and celebrate Matt's mom and grandmothers. Matt's mom has been such a gift to Matt and to me! I am so grateful to have a mother-in-law who loves the Lord. She is one of the few people I know who takes the time to listen and hear what the Lord is telling her. That is such a gift! She is such an inspiration to me, and I am so glad that Maggie knows her Nana!

Maggie with her Aunt Kim "Tim"....Maggie wore a dress from when I was a little girl. My mom made it for me. So special that she can wear it, too.

It's an Abscess!

I guess that is an unusual title for a blog post, but when the two options are tumor or abscess, that is definitely the better of the two! Mr. Gaymon has an abscess that he will receive antibiotics for, and he will have an operation to remove it. The infection apparently developed in the sinus area due to a hole that was not corrected when he had a major accident 15 years ago. So, they are also going to correct that hole when they are operating. The operation will probably be the beginning of next week. I will post the exact day and time so that you can be praying for him. I am pretty sure the surgery is fairly involved, but we trust the Lord to use the surgeons to bring about complete healing and restoration. Pray for that with us! Many thanks you all!

Keep Praying!

Matt's mom just called and said that the neurologist was able to take a look at the MRI. They spotted an area behind Mr. Gaymon's eye that is either an abscess (infection) or a tumor that is pressing on his brain. So, we do have answers to the cause of his seizure. Now, we need to pray that the Lord will guide the doctors as they search for a definite diagnosis and a cure. Pray for healing!

Thank you so much for commenting and letting us know that you are praying! I have been passing along the messages to Mrs. Gaymon, and she knows that your prayers and love are what is getting her through all of this.

Recovering Quickly

Thanks again to all of our family and friends who have been praying for Matt's dad! We have really seen the Lord's hand upon him throughout this week. Praise the Lord!

Matt's dad is recovering quickly and expected to recover fully from his seizure. He was pretty much back to his old self today...just a little bit tired from the sedatives and from what his body has been through. He was scheduled to have an MRI to see if the doctors can figure out what triggered the seizure. They may find something or they may not. So, this may be one of the many unknowns of life. We will see. Thanks again for your prayers!

Matt's Dad is off of the ventilator!!

Matt's dad is off of the ventilator! He is doing really well. Thank you for your prayers and love!

Update and Many Thanks!

Thank you all for your prayers and support! Matt's dad seems to be doing much better. The doctors have pretty much ruled out a stroke causing the seizure activity which is a PRAISE! They were weaning him off of the ventilator, but at one point last night he stopped breathing. So, this is a set back, and I am not sure exactly what it means. So, we ask you to continue to pray and lift up Hal! Thanks so much, friends!

Please Pray

Matt's dad, Hal, is in the hospital right now. Early this morning, he went into respiratory failure. The doctors think that he had a seizure, but are unsure what caused it. They are running tests right now. Pray for God's healing and for peace for Matt's mom and his family. Thanks so much!
